| OVERVIEW
In November of 2004, the owners purchased this historic Lake Forest estate built in 1903. Their goal was to thoroughly revitalize and restore this aged classic to something more beautiful than its original glory. The couple assembled a team of long-time area residents, business owners and professional contractors who shared a similar passion for historic community preservation to help guide them through this meticulous, two-year process. After $4.25 Million spent, the result, the most elegant stately home in downtown Lake Forest. All home systems and key components, including; electric, plumbing, structural, and drainage were completely upgraded with the best of modern products to ensure the home can stand tall for the next 100 years. In addition, existing interior spaces were restored, and new interior spaces were carved out of previously neglected areas. A crumbling garage was replaced with a larger, 3 car garage with heated floor and air conditioning, with more functional space that included an outdoor living room (Brazilian red wood roof deck) with fire place. Extensive landscaping and hardscape, combined with low-key lighting have been added to complement the restored architectural features. In addition, the English basement (direct access from the heated driveway) was completely remodeled and an exercise studio complete with bamboo floors was built out in the rear yard behind the renovated 2 car garage (the home has two garage areas totaling 5 cars of space).
