by The Envoy
The Envoy magazine has its roots as a newspaper in the early 1980s as a USIU San Diego Campus tradition for over 20 years. With the merger and creation of Alliant International University, the Envoy maintained its position as a San Diego Campus newspaper. In April 2008, The Envoy changed its format from a newspaper to a magazine.
Aside from the need and desire to create a forum and outlet for student concerns and praises, The Envoy is a student maintained publication – created for the students, by the students of Alliant International University – it is a vital news medium for all students. Students from all Alliant campuses have the opportunity to write and submit articles to the newspaper. In addition to reporting on current national and world news, the paper reports on university updates. With editorials, students have an opportunity to voice their views and opinions about current events.
The Envoy Mar/Apr 2009 issue is a 24 page magazine, which features color on the front and back covers. The new magazine features a section for each campus from multiple campuses. Additionally, our goal is to have an Editor and staff writers at each Alliant campus to maintain the system-wide feel and representation the Envoy is trying to achieve. keep students up-to-date on news and informed of the latest and greatest on each campus.
