Newsletter for March & April 2013

The Mihsills
Praise Update! In our last newsletter, we asked you to pray for land to be purchased by the Church of God in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire. God provided the land and it was purchased in January! Praise the Lord! Please pray for nances and resources to put up a wall around this new property.

Upcoming Events
We are less than 2 months away from the big day! Jenny's due date is May 11th! Pray for continued health through the pregnancy. Bob will be traveling alone in April as Jenny will not be able to travel long distances after the 36th week of pregnancy. Pray for safety as Bob travels solo.

Oregon or Bust!

During the last week of January, we headed out west to visit Living Link congregation Hoodview Church of God in Woodburn, Oregon, and to be a part of the "How-To" Convention for Oregon/SW Washington. We enjoyed seeing old friends and meeting new ones! We stayed with Jenny's family during our time there and enjoyed meeting with the Regional Coordinator for Africa, Ben Shular, during our visit. We were also able to drive along the Columbia River Gorge and enjoy the beauty of the West Coast.

Praises & Prayer Requests

Praise the Lord for watching over Pastor Josue, one of the Ivoirian pastors who has meningitis. Please pray for his continued and complete healing. Praise the Lord for providing! At the end of February, we were at 45% of our pledged support. Please pray that individuals and churches will partner with us to raise the remaining 55% needed to leave for language school in September! Bob has applied for a 10-year U.S. permanent resident card (green card). This request is currently being processed. Please pray that this request and all of our upcoming visa/immigration documents for France and Cote d'Ivoire would come through smoothly. Praise God for safety during our travels! Over an 8-week span from mid-January to mid-March, we traveled to 7 different states. (See page 2 of this newsletter for a list of churches/states we visited.) During every step of the journey, God protected us!

Thank you for praying for Baby Mihsill!

Thank you for praying for Baby Mihsill! Jenny's obstetrician had been concerned about urine backing up in the baby's kidneys. We saw a pediatric urologist in January who told us that this problem was quite common in babies and was usually corrected naturally in 80% of all cases. We had another ultrasound in February with a different maternal fetal medical doctor and she found that the amount of back-up had not increased and was quite small. This was an answer to prayer! When Baby Mihsill is born, he will go on antibiotics to avoid infection, but we will continue to pray that God will heal him so he doesn't need surgery!

Teaching about Cote d'Ivoire

The photo to the left was taken in Jackson, Mississippi, at the Winter Family Convention where we were able to teach the students about life in Cote d'Ivoire. This was a set-up similar to "Kid's Place" that takes place each year at the North American Convention (Campmeeting).

Winter Family Convention in Jackson, Mississippi

We were honored to be a part of the Winter Family Convention in Jackson, Mississippi on February 22nd and 23rd. An unexpected 10hour layover in Memphis, Tennessee kept us from arriving early on February 22nd, but it was that much sweeter when we did arrive later that evening. Pastor Duane and Michelle Parker and family were our wonderful hosts for the event. We helped with the "Kid's Place" event on Saturday and worshipped with the other convention-goers as well. What a pleasure it was to meet and worship with Pastor Trey and Tressa Hammond and their three lovely daughters in Byram, Mississippi, on Sunday at their church! We were blessed!
