Weare constantly testing newtechnologies and their potentialuse in education and usingestablished technologies in newand innovative ways.We have been at the forefront of researching technologies and passing that research on toschools and partners since weopened in 2002. Our aim is to provide clear guidance on practical classroom use with anunderstanding of the issuesinvolved in school.Technology, by its very nature, isa constantly changing force andthe pace of change today is asfast as ever. Emerging webtechnologies and online learningwill shape education in the futureand it is essential that thesedevelopments are used for sound pedagogical reasons.The research undertaken byCentral Birmingham CityLearning Centre is designed tohelp teachers and to directlyinfluence their practise. It ishoped that this report will inspireyou and create exciting learningopportunities for pupils.

ABSTRACT
This research looks at the use of  podcasting in the classroom. Itresults from numerous sessions atCBCLC where staff taught pupilsand teachers to podcast. Thisdocument brings together andshares the best practice that wasgenerated.Podcasting became a focus for CBCLC because:- It is an engaging tool for learners- It can be used with all abilitylevels- It is particularly suitable for EAL learners- It is an ideal tool to be used incross-curricular projects asrecommended in the Secondary National StrategyCBCLC ran approximately 12sessions with pupils and 4sessions with teachers where podcasting was taught and thenused by the pupils/teachers. Inthese sessions different softwareand hardware was evaluated.
