April Dragon Challenge
During the month of April our DragonChallenge will focus on incorporating moreRESPECT into our lives. This will be a two-part challenge and both parts will need tobe completed in order to receive thereward from the PTA.
Part One: Students will be asked tocomplete an at home Dragon Scale wherethey will reflect on
 “What R
espect Meansto Me.
” 
This scale will need to bereturned to their teacher on or beforeWednesday, May 1.
Part Two: During the month of April ourteachers will be recording the number of compliments the class receives from otherstaff, faculty and visitors in the building.Once a class has received eight (8)compliments during the month, it willhave completed the second part of thism

Meet Our Teacher of the Year
Sixth-grade teacher Kami Abercrombie loveshelping her students, whether they seek tomummify a chicken or learn a Shakespeareanplay. She prepares her students for middleschool by instilling in them a sense of motivation and responsibility. She providesextracurricular opportunities for students viathe Student Council, Safety Patrol, and Debateand Creative Pursuits teams, the latter of whichhas won two state competitions.
Dads & Donuts is April 11
Dads & Donuts will be held Thursday, April 11, this month. Join usin the gym from 8 to 8:30 a.m. and read with your student(s). ThePTA provides milk and donuts. The PTA will also nominate next
year’s Executive Board and those in attendance who are members of 
the PTA will vote on those nominated.
New Playground Ready
Our students have beenanxiously watching theinstallation of our newplayground. The final toucheswere added during SpringRecess and include rubber tiles.The playground is open for allgrades.
2013-14 Reflections Theme Announced
The theme for PTA’s 2013–
14 Reflections Program is
Believe,Dream, Inspire
. Entries are not due until next fall, but students canbegin brainstorming about their entries. For 40 years the NationalPTA Reflections program has encouraged students across the nationand in American Schools overseas to explore their talents throughthe Arts.
Rev. France Davis to Speak April 9
Reverend France Davis will speak to PTA leaders, volunteers andparents in the Canyons School District on April 9 at 7 p.m. at theCanyons District Offices, 9400 S. 300 E. The Region PTA is honoredto have such a great pioneer in Utah civil rights address us. Anyoneis welcome to attend.
