At Beginner Klausner works on his sound machine. Klausner going from his house into his garden shed to work his machine. He hears the roses cry out as they are cut. Next morning at the park, klausner swings his axe against the tree trunk he hears along, loud terrifying sound through his machine

The Climax When Dr.Scott arrives, Klausner makes him wear the earphones. Klausner swings his axe against the tree trunk. Then, a big branch of the tree crashes down on top of the machine.

Resolution Dr. Scott is reluctant to describe what he heard. Klausner then insists that the doctor put the iodine on the two cuts on tree trunk.

Klausner He is a mad scientist. He obsessed by his hobby of making a sound machine. He is horrified his machine works and he hears the screams of plants being cut.

Dr. Scott As a doctor, he represents the ordinary scientific community. He looks at things in a rational way.

Mrs. Saunders she is an ordinary housewife who thinks klausner is mad. She serves as a contrast to klausner.
