This Proud Day In My Life Today is Wednesday March 20, 2013, the first day of spring.

I can honestly say this is one of the proudest days I can remember. No, this has nothing to do wit h my work as an affiliate marketer, working online. This has everything to do w ith my first grandson. I have 2 grandsons, and my first born is Daniel. He is 5 years old and will be 6 on April 22, 2013, Earth Day. Today my daughter called me to give me a surprising bit of news. As surprising f or me as it was for my daughter and son in law. They live in Miami Florida, and I live in San Jose, California. They received a letter from Bent Tree Elementa ry School in Miami, stating that the school had nominated Daniel for the Miami D ade County School Board Outstanding Effort Award. Daniel was born premature at 7 months. He was hardly over a year old when we fi rst discovered that he has asthma. The way we discovered his illness, is when h e woke up one morning and could not breath. Dad was at work and mom was at home with him. That is when they lived with me. On that morning, my daughter came d ownstairs with Daniel in her arms and he was weezing. Then I noticed he was tur ning blue. I told her to call the paramedics and they arrived quickly, even tho ugh it felt like an eternity. They quickly took over. Daniel did not even have the strength to cry. Thank goodness for the professional men and women who arr ive for emergencies, both paramedics and the fire department. They managed to s tabilize him, and transport him to the hospital. My precious grandson had only 20% flow of oxygen. I do not even want to think about what could of happened to him. Since then he has been in the hospital 5 times. He dreads being in the hospital because he always ends up with and IV and whatever else they want to stick in h im. He has had pneoumonia 2 times. It has been a struggle. My daughter has tr ied everything to get him well. She has discovered that exercise really helps b ecause his lungs get stronger. Any way at his age he is a great swimmer, plays T-ball, ice hockey and now soccer. When he started Kindergarten this past September, we noticed he liked school. H e willing does his homework every day and in this short span of 6 months, he lea rned to read, is writing, knows his letters, can add and is doing great. Receiving this letter with a nomination for a county award is something we did n ot expect, but whether he wins or loses does not matter. The point is that he h as accomplished a great feat for a child that has struggled so long and hard wit h his health. As per the letter, the award certificates will be distributed at the Town Hall M eeting on April 3, 2013. I am sure this will be the first of many proud moments that my grandson Daniel Lopez, his parents, and all of us who love him will hav e. Daniels motto, "When you have grandma, who needs Santa" So thank you for reading this article post. It means a lot to me. I love my gr andsons very much. They mean the world to me.
