Thank you for the recipes! I am also of Polish descent and have versions of the same recipes but it is interesting to see the variations. For instance, my family never used sour cream in our pierogi dough so I'm excited to try that. Our favorite filling is also cottage cheese (similar to farmer's cheese?) with cooked onions mixed in. I think the pineapple version is going to taste great!
Looks like some really great recipes here. I can't wait to try the raisin sauce. Also, do you have any crockpot recipes that you'd like to share?
Classic, traditional, delicious home cooking that my grandmother passed down to my mother, then on to me. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience of real cooking.
This is very interesting and I may try a recipe or two. However... Like most modern recipes it uses "one can" in places without noting the quantity of ingredients contained within the can (e.g. the filling for Pierogie calls out one can sourkraut). I have no idea how much sourkraut to use and I doubt very much if your Grandmother used a "can" of anything. Converting a recipe to use currently available ingredients is perfectly acceptable, but you HAVE to provide sufficient information to duplicate the recipe. How big is the "can"? 8 oz? 12 oz? 16 oz? 500 gm? 500 ml? 1 liter? etc. etc. Thanks for listening, and I look forward to the revisions so I can duplicate your delicious sounding recipes!
