Thepurposeofthismanual
is
topresentacurrentcomprehensiveguidetotaping/wrappingtechniques,traditionallyused
in
variousprofessionsofsportsmedicine.Theprimaryfunctionofalloftheseprocedures
is
toprovidesupportandstabilization,orcompressiontotheaffectedbodypart.Abasicunderstandingofhumananatomy,biomechanics,injuryevaluationandrehabilitationprotocol
is
important.Thefirstchapterexplainsvariousfundamentalsoftapingandwrappingproceduresconcerningthepreparationoftheathletepriortotheapplicationofanytaping/wrappingtechnique.Chapters2through7arebrokenintotheseparts:assessing
an
injuryanatomicalgraphicscommonterminologypurposeandapplicationofadhesiveandelastictapeorelasticwrapforcompressionorsupportselectionofathletictrainingsuppliesandspecialtyitems
