A local attorney sent a letter to Farmington police last year warning that one of its officers was going to shoot or kill someone.

And last month, that officer -- Christopher Blea -- shot and injured a burglary suspect, Michael Chavez.

November 29,2012Re: Request for Internal Affairs Investigation of Officer BleaDear Chief Westhall:Two recent "Attempt to Locate Stops" by Officer C. Blea (one of Andrew Gephardt on10/6/12 and one of Alejandro Ortiz on 11/02/12) show either lack of proper training and/orrogue actions by Officer Blea in obvious disregard of constitutional rights. In both casesOfficer Blea stops the first thing that moves when both were in clear contradiction of thedescription in the attempt to locate. Please watch the video of the Ortiz stop. It is sooutrageous, I have filed a Tort Claims Notice. In short, this cavalier cowboy attitude
by
Officer Blea is not only contrary to law but is goingto get someone shot and/or killed.Someone peeled out of a parking lot - Ortiz's vehicle doesn't match the description andBlea gets 4 other cops to pull guns on four 18year olds during atraffic stop? AlbuquerquePolice Department may have earned a reputation as "Another Person Dead" for killing 1citizen per month, but I urge you to stop Officer Blea now before we have one.
