What is the Kaesong complex?
The 66 km (25.5 sq. mi.) industrial park just inside the Norths border is run by a South Korean committee. South Korean companies take advantage of low labour costs to produce its goods there.
North Korea has pulled more than 50,000 people from its Kaesong industrial complex. The North is angry due to the UN tightening sanctions following the Najin nations third nuclear test in February. Pyongyang is also on edge due to the U.S. and South Korea conducting joint Chongjin military exercises, despite the allies Hyesan calling it routine.
