Response to Petros Tesfagiorgis and his desperado's associates

By Zerai Solomon

London U.K.
As a father of two children, I was happy to see my children running around and having a jolly good time at Eritrean festival in London. The outdoor activities gave this year’sfestival a special touch and reminded all of us of the great Bologna festivals of the 80s.There were about 80 families that decided to stay at the site and camp out with theirfamilies reminiscent of the
Bologna festivals
. I too decided to stay with my wife and twochildren. It was during a conversation with one of my compatriots that I found out aboutan opinion piece written by
Petros Tesfagiorg
i
s
in which he criticizes the London familyfestival and attempts to undermine it. All I can say is that he is acting out of a guiltycomplex. He cannot like a family festival because he does not have a family that wants to beassociated with him. His wife has kicked him out and he does not have a family to speak of and that is why he wants to criticize the London Eritrean festival-he does not want tobe reminded of his personal misery. But what does the festival have to do with hispersonal life? Nothing. But that seems to be the logic of the day with the groups that we are seeing todayopposing anything that is associated with Eritrea and its people.I have decided to speak up and let this new generation of Eritreans know the truth aboutthe noise makers who live in the vicinity London.

 Since I personally know
Petros
and his family very well, I have decided to tell mychildren and all the other youngsters in this area, the truth about
Petros
and hisbackground.
Petros Tesfagiorgis, like his brother Paulos Tesfagiorgis, also has a long and uglyhistory of betrayals.
This ungrateful chap who is now spending his days denigrating theEritrean People’s Liberation Front (EPLF) and its members must have forgotten what theFront did for him. He should be the last person to criticize the government of Eritrea andthe People’s Front for Justice and Democracy (PFDJ).In fact, he needs to first know himself, know his children and criticize himself first beforehe can talk about others, leave alone the Front and its members. The funny thing aboutthis chap is that he now feels isolated and therefore wants his groups to have a “rebelfestival”, whatever that means.Petros joined the struggle for Eritrea ’s independence, but the whiner that he is, heconstantly complained about being sick; having eye pain, back pain etc. The EPLF, ahumanitarian organization, did not force him to stay and fight in the liberation war. As amatter of fact, they arranged for him to leave through Yemen and then to London. It wasthere that he worked with the Eritrean Relief Agency (ERA). His brother Paulos alsoworked with ERA, and so did the other Eritrean opportunist and liar,
BereketHabteselassie. That seems to be one of the common threads between these unlikely groups. Thesecond is the fact that they are all hired by foreigners.

Another person that has been actively working against Eritrea is a man I have knownsince the 80s when he arrived in the UK from Bulgaria is
Assefaw Gebrekidan
. How hecame to the UK is a story for itself. He came with the help of the EPLF massorganisation. When the Bulgarian government wanted to deport him and others like him to Ethiopiawhere the Dergue regime was in power, the EPLF mass organisation intervened andfacilitated his travel to the UK. But that is a good thing, isn’t it?Why then would he turn against the EPLF/PFDJ today? Again, like all the others, it isbecause of personal issues. His brother,
Daniel Gebrekidan was a notorious member of the group known as ESEPA (Derg regime) and was responsible for the deaths of hundreds of youth.
He was known for the cruel murders of hundreds who were hanged with coat hangersand wires and who were tortured to death. After Eritrea’s independence, he was one of those that was convicted for his crimesagainst the people of Eritrea and was put into prison for life. After remaining silent forover 10 years, Assefaw has now decided to attack the EPLF/PFDJ and has joined theanti-Eritrea groups parading in London.
He is also the person that has been snitching to the Metropolitan London police andothers about Eritrean community activities that he wants disrupted. He has been actively working to stop Eritreans in the London area fromparticipating in community activities, such as the Festival.Daniel Gebrekidan was a cruel and criminal individual that caused the suffering of many families. Is Assefaw trying to do the same? But Assefaw and Petros are not the only two that have taken advantage of theEPLF’s generosity only to turn around and betray it
