Summary
The present report is submitted pursuant to Human Rights Council resolution S-9/1 of 12January 2009 in which the Council requested all relevant special procedures mandate-holders, inparticular the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territoriesoccupied since 1967, the Special Rapporteur on the right of everyone to the enjoyment of thehighest attainable standard of physical and mental health, the Special Representative of theSecretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict, the Special Rapporteur on violence againstwomen, its causes and consequences, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General on thehuman rights of internally displaced persons, the Special Rapporteur on adequate housing as acomponent of the right to an adequate standard of living, and on the right to non-discrimination inthis context, the Special Rapporteur on the right to food, the Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial,arbitrary or summary executions, the Special Rapporteur on the right to education and theindependent expert on the question of human rights and extreme poverty, to urgently seek andgather information on violations of the human rights of the Palestinian people and submit theirreports to the Council at its next session.
 
The Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territoriesoccupied since 1967 has submitted a separate report to the Council (A/HRC/10/20). The presentreport is submitted by the other above-mentioned mandate-holders, and includes individualsections submitted by each one as well as a joint introduction, legal analysis and set of recommendations. The section submitted by the Special Representative of the Secretary-Generalfor Children and Armed Conflict.
