CAUSE Celebrates 20 Years of Empowering the CommunityPASADENA, CA

– Center for Asian Americans United for Self-Empowerment (CAUSE) will be celebrating its 20
Anniversary at this year’s CAUSE AnnualDinner on Friday, April 19, 2013 at the Langham Huntington Hotel in Pasadena. Over 500 guestsare expected to attend this year’s dinner, including the most prominent leaders in civic, business,legal, and political communities throughout Southern California.We invite members of the press to join us for a special press conference at the LanghamHuntington Hotel that will feature CAUSE’s distinguished honorees, sponsors, board members,and elected officials who will be in attendance.

This year’s dinner marks an important milestone for both CAUSE and the Asian Americancommunity, as the community and the organization has seen tremendous growth in number andin influence in the past 20 years.CAUSE will be honoring individuals and organizations for leadership and legacies that haveenhanced the civic and political participation of the Asian Pacific American (APA) community:As Chief Executive Officer of the Southern California Gas Company,
has worked above and beyond to ensure that her company is atthe forefront of workforce diversity and that it holds its place as a pillar in thecommunity. We applaud Smith for her ability to successfully balance herprofessional responsibilities at SoCalGas, her commitment to theenvironmental community, and her personal interests as a role model for thenext generation of women leaders.
