For saety and security reasons, Eletronuclear wanted to enhance systemsresilience and improve operational eciency. The company looked or ways to reduce the number o system outages and improve its technicaltesting capabilities. The aims were to complete tests more rapidly and torun tests without impact on the production systems. To do so,Eletronuclear introduced abilities such as production environment backup online and z/OSMF cloning. Working closely with IBM, Eletronuclear took the opportunity to jointhe IBM z/OS Early Support Program (ESP), upgrading to z/OS 1.13, which includes the groundbreaking z/OS Management Facility. Thecombination o the extended unctionality and enhanced systemproductivity eatures immediately addressed Eletronuclear’s needs orimproved system resilience and increased business productivity.
IBM z/OS Management Facility (z/OSMF) provides a web-browserbased management console or z/OS, enabling more productive day-to-day operations and ease o administration. More than just a graphical userinterace, z/OSMF provides an intelligent management console to helpreduce the learning curve and improve productivity or management andconguration, with automated tasks, embedded active user assistance andsimplied operationsz/OSMF simplies the execution o new management tasks and enhancesexisting tasks, or example, providing accelerated sotware deployment through the rapid cloning o z/OS images. It includes powerul TCP/IPnetwork and security conguration, as well as z/OS and Linux workloadserver resource monitoring, all rom a single point o control. Additionally, z/OSMF Incident Log enables the team to identiy and solve problems rapidly and eciently by providing online accessto relevant documentation with ast and simple delivery to theIBM technical teams. Further detailed system indicators can be accessedusing z/OSMF, allowing support staf to optimize perormance rom within the single browser-based environment.
