Good question. I'm not sure who wrote the introduction, I assume it was the work of the surviving brothers. Possibly Barney, that was the way I remember him speaking. Armond was my Great Uncle as well. We used to visit Raymond in his restaurant in Florida every winter when I was a kid. I am actually planning on visiting Armond's grave in the next week or so. This is why the people of our community named a great organization in honor of a great hero: ARMOND CUTINELLA

A perfect gentleman-a serious scholar-a good provider devoted father. A man in every true sense and meaning of the word. Yes,-that was Armond Cutinella.

And when war came and the Army beckoned, Armond went along, unflinchingly, uncomplaining-although ever thoughtful of
his children, his family, his many friends, his cherished memories of his school days at P. S. 95 and later at Abraham Lincoln High.
It was not long before Armond-Private Armond now began to show his prowess as a fighting doughboy. His gallantry and unselfish spirit drew the praises of his officers and buddies
with the famous Yankee Doodle Division. One fateful day, while fighting the savage battle of the Bulge, his company was ordered
to attack the small town of Lublin in Luxemburg. Fierce enemy fire resulted in an almost complete annihilation of that brave band.

Armond together with eleven other U. S. fighting men survived. Though tired and battle weary, they fought hard and long to hold
their precarious position. But before reinforcements could be sent to relieve this gallant few, German mortars killed the gallant bandof eleven-and Private Armond Cutinella.
That is why the Hon. Mayor Vincent R. Impellitteri named the Square on 86th Street in the honor of Private Armond Cutinella.

Besides Arrnond, Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Cutinella had two other sons in the service of our country. Frank, who served with
honor with the U. S. Navy in the Pacific theater and Raymond, a member of the 507th Combat Engineers attached to the First Division
Infantry. Ray, who was wounded in the battle of the Ruhr River, is the holder of five battle stars, a purple heart and the Bronze Star. (Less)
