ACT ONERECAP -- NIGHT ONEWe Recap the events from Night One, ending on Adama facing the news that Lee is dead.FADE IN:INT. GALACTICA - COMBAT INFORMATION CENTERAdama stares at the Dradis screen, can't believe it. He looks around CIC for a beat, his gaze finallylanding on Tigh, who meets his eyes, knows the truth.ON THE DRADIS SCREENThe large energy bloom still blots the screen. The two Cylon fighters turn and fly away from thebloom.GAETA (O.S.)Cylons moving off, sir.RESUMEThe CIC remains utterly silent, everyone knows what just happened to their commander's son.Adama sits down heavily in a chair. Lost for the moment. The silence hangs heavy in the air. Tighfinally steps up.TIGHResume Jump prep.Everyone goes back to work. Gaeta resumes going through his checklist. Tigh takes a beat, putsa hand on Adama's shoulder, then goes over to rejoin Gaeta at the FTL station.Adama stares off into middle distance.INT. TRANSPORT SHIP - COCKPITLee sits back in his seat, very much alive, and looking relieved.LEEI think it worked.Laura and the Pilot share in the feeling of cautious relief.TRANSPORT PILOTHow can you be sure?LEEI'm not. But if the Cylons weren't fooled, they'd be on topof us by now.LAURAWhat did you do exactly?
 
LEEIt was a theory we toyed with at the War College. Somescientist discovered that double-banking the soliton wavegenerated by a faster-than-light drive mimicked a thermo-nuclear radiation signature.Laura throws a look to the Pilot who translates it.TRANSPORT PILOTHe used the hyperdrive to put out a big... pulse of energythat looks like a nuclear explosion.LEEWe used to wargame the possibility that it could be usedto trick enemy sensors into thinking a distant target hadbeen destroyed in battle.TRANSPORT PILOTDoes the rest of the fleet know about that trick?LEEI doubt it. We, uh... we were never successful in our wargames.LAURACome again?LEEIt always failed in the simulations. The Cylons alwayssaw right through the fake and destroyed the targetanyway.LAURA(to Pilot)The lesson here is not to ask follow-up questions, butsimply say...(to Lee)"Thank you, Captain Apollo for saving our collectiveasses."TRANSPORT PILOTThank you Captain Apollo for saving our collective asses.LEEYou're... welcome.
