 where valence electrons are delocalized and free tomove throughout the metal rather than the remainingbounded electrons.1. Metals are crystalline solids with the exception of mercury and galliumwhich are liquids at roomtemperature. Another exception ishydrogen, which isa very reactive metal; it exists as a gas at roomtemperature.
