The Natural Phenomena of AntiGravitation andInvisibility in Insects due to the Grebennikov CavityStructure Effect (CSE)
Introduction
by Iu. N. Cherednichenko, Senior Researcher, BiophysicsLaboratory, Institute of Human Pathology and Ecology,Russian Academy of Medical Science
Viktor Stepanovich Grebennikov is a naturalist, a professionalentomologist, an artist-simply put, an intellectual with a wide rangeof interests and pursuits. He is known tomany as the discoverer ofthe Cavernous Structures Effect (CSE). But very few peoplearefamiliar with his other discovery, one that also borrows from Natureand itsinnermost secrets.Back in 1988 he discovered anti-gravitational effects of the chitinshell of certaininsects. But the most impressive concomitantphenomenon discovered at the sametime was that of complete orpartial invisibility or of distorted perception of materialobjectsentering the zone of compensated gravity. Based on this discovery, the authorused bionic principles to design and build an anti-gravitationalplatform for dirigibleflights at the speed of up to 25km/min. Since 1991-92 he has used this device for fasttransportation.Bio-gravitational effects are a wide spectrum of natural phenomena, apparently notconfined to just a few species of insects. There ismuch empirical data to support thepossibility of a lowered weight orcomplete levitation of material objects as a result of directed psychophysicalhuman action (psychokinesis)-e. g. levitation of yogipracticing transcendental meditation according to the Maharishimethod. There areknown cases of mediums levitating duringspiritistic sessions. However, it would be amistake to think that suchabilities are only found in people who are gifted by nature.

I am convinced that these abilities are an understudied biologicalregularity. As isknown, human weightsignificantly drops in the stateof somnambulistic automatism(sleepwalking). During theirnocturnal journeys, 80-90 kg sleepwalkers are able totread on thinplanks, or step on people sleeping next to them without causing thelatter any physical discomfort (other than fright). Some clinical casesof non-spasmodicepileptic fits often result in a short-term reversibletransformation of personality(people in such state are commonlyreferred to as "possessed"), whereby a skinny, exhausted girl or aten-year-old boy acquire the physical prowess of a trained athlete.Currently this psychological phenomenon is known asmultiple personalitysyndromebecause it significantly differs from theclassical complex of epileptic symptoms. Suchclinical cases arewell-known and well-documented. However, phenomenaaccompanied by a change in the weight of humans or of materialobjects are notconfined to functional pathologies of the organism.Healthy people in the state of acute psychological stress caused by alife-threateningsituation or an overpowering motivation to achieve avitally important goal have theability to spontaneously overcomeobstacles insurmountable in their normal condition-e. g. to liftenormous weights, etc. These phenomena are commonly explainedbyanextreme mobilization of muscular strength, but precisecalculations do not agree withsuch hypotheses. Apparently, athletes(high jumpers, weightlifters, runners) haveparticularly developedbio-anti-gravitational mechanisms.Their athletic performance is mostly (if not wholly) determined notso much by therigor of their training as by their psychologicalpreparedness. If an accurate scientifictask of studying the anomaliesof the human weight in various psycho-physiologicalstates wereever set up and technical means of dynamic weight monitoringcreated, wewould then have objective data on this unusualphenomenon. There is also evidence of other phenomena ofshort termmass increase in biological objects, including humans, that arenot related to mass transfer.V. S. Grebennikov's book has high literary merit and includes theauthor's ownillustrations. It is a kind of a "dactylogram" for hissystem of spiritual values, hisenvironmental outlook, and hisentomological autobiography. Many readers arelikelyto perceivethe book as nothing more than a popularized summary of theentomologist's 60-year experience of scientific observations, peppered with someelements of science fiction. But such aconclusion would be deeply erroneous. As ViktorStepanovich'sfriend and as someone with an intimate knowledge of his work (ourhomes are only 10km apart), I can vouch I have never met a morecareful, conscientious, honest, and talented experimental scientist.Grebennikov is also widely known in the so-called scientificunderground (i. e. thebranch of advanced Russian science constantlypersecuted by the official scientificestablishment). Thus, a committeefor combating pseudo-science, created inNovosibirsk division of theRussian Academy, has victimized many talented membersof ourlocal scientific community. The situation is much the same at theRussianAgricultural Academy. It is very easy to lose one's job at alab (even as its head, regardless of one's degree and title). One onlyneeds to publish an article on, forexample, the evolutionarysignificance of anti-gravitational mechanisms in insects. But I am convinced that discoveries of such proportions must not beburied inmanuscripts just because pragmatism still rules science. Letthis book be nothingbut

"science fiction" for those at the top. Eachperson has his own beliefs. But he who haseyes shall see.Catastrophism in both the evolution of living nature and in the natureof humanknowledge is actually a drastic destruction of old beliefsystems-a destruction that runsahead of theoretical prognostications.A fanatical faith and idol-worship links our contemporary academicscience with paganreligion. But a harmonious development (in thesense of Pavel Florensky's pneuma-tosphere) would not be possiblewithout breaking old stereotypes in the process of mastering thewisdom and experience of older generations.
