INTRODUCTION
his booklet is part of a larger collection of books(see list on last page), dictated in large part by Jesusand the Virgin Mary to Catalina (Katya) Rivas. Thebooks reflect traditional Catholic teaching andspirituality and are available at “
www.LoveAndMercy.org”
for reading and printing at no cost. People areencouraged to copy these texts without change anddistribute them in support of the
beloved Pope JohnPaul II’s
call to a New Evangelization. These books of “The Great Crusade” are part of agrowing collection of now more than twelvepublications in Spanish containing teachings thattransmit the spirituality of the Apostolate of the NewEvangelization (ANE), which is based upon the SacredScripture and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. The books are progressively being translated intoEnglish and other languages. An Imprimatur orrecommendation by Catholic Church authorities canthe found at the beginning of each publication. The ANE is a Catholic movement of lay people thatarises as an answer to Pope John Paul II’s insistent callto those baptized to commit
to the task of promotingthe Good News that Christ
has died and risen for oursalvation from sin.As Catholics that we are, we completely submit to theTeaching of the Church concerning “PrivateRevelations” as stated in Canons 66 and 67 of theCatechism of the Catholic Church, published in Englishin 1994:
Canon 66
: “The Christian economy, therefore, since itis the new and definitive Covenant, will never passaway; and no new public revelation is to be expectedbefore the glorious manifestation of our Lord JesusChrist.” Yet even if Revelation is already complete, ithas not been made completely explicit; it remains forChristian faith gradually to grasp its full significanceover the course of the centuries.
Canon 67
: Throughout the ages, there have been so-called “private” revelations, some of which have beenrecognized by the authority of the Church. They donot belong, however, to the deposit of faith. It is nottheir role to improve or complete Christ's definitiveRevelation, but to help live more fully by it in acertain period of history. Guided by the Magisteriumof the Church, the sensus fidelium knows how to

discern and welcome in these revelations whateverconstitutes an authentic call of Christ or his saints tothe Church.Christian faith cannot accept “revelations” that claimto surpass or correct the Revelation of which Christ isthe fulfillment, as is the case in certain non-Christianreligions and also in certain recent sects which basethemselves on such “revelations”.If Jesus speaks to your heart as you read this book, please share these words with people who want toopen their hearts to the call for a New Evangelization.Invoke the Holy Spirit so that It guides and grants youthe gifts that you need for a good personal conversionand grants the same for those with whom you sharethis booklet.

llow yourself to be embraced by My mostardent desire that all souls will come andpurify themselves in the water of penance, and that the feeling of confidence and not fear maypenetrate them, because I am a God of Mercy and Iam always ready to receive them in My Heart. When you do what I ask of you, I am near you.Your obedience will quench that flaming thirst whichdried My lips on the Cross.I will make Myself present each time that youinvoke My Passion with love. I will permit you to liveunited with Me in the pain that I experienced in theGarden of Gethsemane when I saw the sins of allmen.Think about everything that I had to go throughto save mankind, to be able to reign in their hearts, tomake possible their entrance into My Father’sKingdom.Let us now meditate on My Passion… whichcontinues to give glory to the Father and holiness tosouls.Let us walk together the Way of the Cross.

rowned with thorns and covered with a purplemantle, the soldiers presented Me again to Pilate. Not finding a crime that he could punish Me for,Pilate was looking for a way to set Me free. In thepitiable condition that I was in, Pilate showed Me tothe mob. He proposed to give Me liberty andcondemn Barrabas, a famous thief and murderer. Thepeople shouted back: “Crucify Him and set Barrabasfree!”

Souls who love Me, see how they have comparedMe to a criminal. How they have lowered Me morethan the worst criminal. Meditate for a moment uponthe unspeakable martyrdom of My Heart: My Heartdegraded beneath the heart of Barrabas. I am themost despised of men, and I am being condemned todeath like an infamous criminal. Pilate haspronounced sentence. My little children, considerattentively how My Heart suffered…
Jesus, most obedient, meek and humble of heart, have mercy on us.

et us continue, My little children. Follow Me onthe way to Calvary. I am overwhelmed with theweight of the Cross….While My Heart was absorbed with sadness forthe eternal loss of Judas, the cruel executioners, insensitive to My pain, place the Cross on Mywounded shoulders. The hard and heavy Cross cutsinto My shoulders. Through the Cross, Iconsummated the mystery of the Redemption of theworld.Contemplate My Passion, Angels from Heaven.See the Creator of all the marvels; the God to whomall the heavenly spirits render adoration; the Godwalking towards Calvary and carrying on Hisshoulders the holy and blessed wooden cross; theGod who is going to receive His last breath.Contemplate My Passion, you souls who wish tobe My faithful imitators. My Body, destroyed by somuch torture, walks without strength, bathed insweat and Blood…

Jesus, most obedient, meek and humble of heart, have mercy on us.

suffer, without any sorrow for My pain from themob! As I walk, there is not a single one of themob who feels pity towards Me. I amsurrounded by hungry wolves, wanting to devourtheir prey… All of the demons came out of hell tocompound My suffering.

The fatigue that I feel is so great and the Cross isso heavy, that I fell half-way there. In the mostbrutal manner, the soldiers forced Me to lift up theCross. One soldier takes Me by the arm; anothersoldier pulls My clothes that are stuck to Mywounds, tearing them open again… Yet anothersoldier grabs Me by the neck, another by the hair. Anumber of soldiers hit Me with their fists and otherskick Me with terrible blows all over My Body. TheCross falls over Me and with its weight causes newwounds. My face is forced down into the stones ofthe path. Blood runs down My face and it sticks toMy eyes which are almost closed. The blows I havereceived are causing My eyes to be swollen. Thedust and the mud mingle with the Blood and I amturned into the most repugnant person.
Jesus, most obedient, meek and humble of heart, have mercy on us.
