A.)Member academic departments must be re-recognized through havinga designated senator every spring quarter in order to sustain a votingmembership for the following year.B.)If a member academic department fails to be re-recognized, thatdepartment will hold a non-voting position on the SAS until such timeas they can be recognized through a senator.C.)Re-recognition will consist of having a senator that has completed allthe necessary requirements through the application process as stated inTitle III Article I of by-laws.1.2.0MEMBER ACADEMIC DEPARTMENTS
1.2.1.0Rights and Responsibilities
1-2.1.1Every member of an academic department shall have access to CentralWashington University facilities if such facilities are offered. In thisdocument, in compliance with the Washington Administrative Code,“facilities” does not include Washington state motor pool. These rightsmay be revoked pending a decision outlined in Title III Article II of by-laws.
1.2.2.0Referential Input
1-2.2.1The SAS may, with a two-thirds affirmative vote, pass statements of declaration and/or motions of intent to the ASCWU Board of Directors.1.2.2.2Such actions require the ASCWU Board of Directors to consider themotion within two weeks of passing through the ASCWU Senate of Academic Student Affairs.
1.2.3.0Recognition Process
1-2.3.1Academic department members must be re-recognized every academicschool year.A.) Academic departments can start the recognition process thefirst week of spring quarter for the following academic schoolyear.1-2.3.2A SAS recognized academic department must also be a CentralWashington University recognized academic department.1-2.3.3A SAS recognized academic department must have a designated studentdepartment leader, also known as a senator, which has completed thesenator application process.
