 Walk into my congregation during weekend worship and you’ll meet people youtypically wouldn’t expect to see in a St.Louis LCMS church: an extended amily rom Nepal. Drive a ew miles to anotherLCMS congregation and you’ll meet French-speaking Arican immigrants. In another,converts rom Bosnia.Te world is at our door! Tis God-given opportunity is an about-ace romgenerations past, when Europeansimmigrated and grew their community around a amiliar church building. oday,our neighbors are as likely to be atheists asChristians. Tey may be Muslim or Hindi.Te world is in the aces o the homeless, the vagabond wanderer and the college student.Many mix a bit o this or that religion witha bit o wishul thinking, making up a belie system that ts their taste — ignorant aboutJesus, denying sin and slaving or innerpeace. Tey are spiritual, but not religious.Te world is at our door! And very oten,the world has no perceived use or what weoer: orgiveness, lie and salvation in ChristJesus. Te world is blind to the truth, untilthe Holy Spirit working through Word andSacrament opens their eyes and the door o their hearts.Tis issue o
