RE: Latest NORAD delivery
Pat,
Janet,
on
second
look—yes on
Monday, Labor
Day!!—it
appears
we may
have
at
least some
of the
ground
controlcomms
with Langley birds;
but it is
still
not
clear
we
have
the
Otis equivalent.
Let us see
what
FAA
pulls
up
first.
The
exercise historical material from NORAD is fascinating. We may have one difficulty that
will
require your
help.
It is not
clear
in the
Amalgam Virgo
02
submission what material
is pre
9/11
and
what
is
post 9/11. Lack
ofdates
on specific line items is a hindrance. Let me come up with a definitive list for AV02, but please inject a noteofcaution into the process that when we are provided extracted material without the covering material the original
dates
of the extracted material need to be provided.MilesOriginal

Latest
NORAD
delivery
Pat,
Janet, we are
seeing
some very responsive material, especially the debriefs of the Langley pilots.
Raises
the question if such debriefs will be forthcoming for Otis and Andrews pilots, as well.
Janet,
those debriefs show that we will need to go to Langley, but perhaps won't
need
to go to North
Dakota.
I
note some
duplication in the
NORAD material with documents previously delivered.
For
example,
we
got
a second copy of the NEADS transcripts as well as second copies of some of the Cheyenne Mtmaterial, logs specifically. Earlier, we also got multiple deliveries of the CONR chat log. I speculate that
the
initial
deliveries were direct from CONRandNEADSandthat NORADis nowsubmittingthesame
information.
Is it the
rolling
production
that is
causing
this and do you have any
suggestions
on how we
might save time and your end and ours in handling duplicate deliveries?
On
a different note, the debriefs of the Langley pilots clearly show that both FAA and NEADS wereinvolved
in the
actual ground control
of
pilots
that
day.
So
far,
we
have
no
transcripts, tapes
or
other data
from
either DoT or DoD that account for taskings, directions, instructions and other information relayed to
and
from the Otis, Langley and Andrews fighter pilots. FAA is separately pursuing its end of this issue. Please make sure that
NEADS/NORAD
accounts for ground control of the
pilotswhile
airborne in their
search
for documents related to the hijacked aircraft.Again, thanks for continued support and have a pleasant weekend.Miles
