File Types List
This section of the site provides a list of the common file types that Macintosh and PCusers are likely to come across and the applications they are associated with. The filetype is normally identified by a 3 letter code at the end of the filename, ie .PDFsignifies an Adobe Acrobat document and .PUB a Microsoft Publisher document.The list is in no way complete and should be used mainly as a guideline, as there areno fixed rule on what extension a file can have, ie .XLS normally signifies an Excelspreadsheet, but nothing is stopping another program from using .XLS as theextension for its files.To navigate round this section, simply click on the letter you want from the list above.
