Senior Management Meet
The Heritage Village, an eco-friendly resort with architecture inspired by the villages of Haryana and havelis of Rajasthan at Manesar, was the venue for Senior Management'smeeting to evaluate and review the performance of the half year ended on 30th September.Senior Management team comprising of Directors, Functional Heads & Zonal and FactoryHeads met for three days from 17th to 19th October 2008 to discuss and ponder overstrategic issues which would impact the company's business in the coming years.Apart from serious discussions on the performance of the company, lot of cultural activitieswere also organised for the participants.
 
A lot of excitement prevailed amongst the ladies asthey celebrated the Karva Chauth festival with muchfestivity and enthusiasm.The main motto of celebratingKarva Chauth Festival, celebrated specially in the NorthIndia, is to wish for long life, well being and prosperityfor the husbands.The Pooja was followed by a sumptuous dinnerorganised on rajasthani theme at the Bara Handi.Therajasthani songs and dance were equally enjoyed by all.Lot of fun-filled activities and games were organised for thespouses. Ladies also visitedplaces of historical importancein Delhi like Red Fort etc. andthroughly enjoyed doingshopping at Palika Bazaar andConnaught Place.A be-fitting farewell was organised for Mr.A.J. Rao on18th October 2008 during the recently concluded half – yearreview meet at The Heritage Village Manesar. Mr.A.J. Rao hadsuccessfully led the South Zone of Everest Industries for almosttwo decades.At the farewell, the team remembered some of thenostalgic moments spent together during his tenure.

Speak-Up Your Views Matter
To strengthen the process of sharing company informationon achievements, performance, goals, targets, strategies andmost importantly, understanding employees' views, themanagement held the second quarterly EmployeesCommunication forum on 11th August 2008 at IndiaCorporate Centre, New Delhi. Mr. M L Gupta, ManagingDirector, chaired the Forum wherein local issues werediscussed. Over 85 employees from Head office and SBSdivision participated in this forum. Mr. M.L.Gupta,Mr. Manish Sanghi, Mr.Y S Rao, Mr. Manish Garg andMr. B Ram Mohan answered the queries of the employees.This occasion also provided an opportunity for new joineesto interact witheach other and theseniormanagement.The meeting wasfollowed by a musicsession which hadan activeparticipation of theemployees.

HIVAIDSisoneofmostdeadliestdiseaseofthemodernera.Thoughsomebreakthroughshavebeenachievedinitstreatmentbutthefactisthatthedoctorsarestillstrugglingtofindthedefinitetreatmentforthisdisease.Inoureffortstospreadmoreknowledgeandinformationaboutthisdisease,anawarenessworkshopwasconductedforsteelbusinessemployeeson27thSeptember2008atBhagwanpurWorks.Ms.MonicaGuptafromSmileFoundation(anassociateofAmbujaCementFoundation)conductedthisawarenessworkshop.Thisinitiativeofeducatingtheemployeesondifferenttopicsisbeinghighlyappreciatedallaround.
