Although I won’t be taking attendance on a regular basis, we will be covering totallynew material in each class meeting, so it is in your best interest to miss as few as possible. Latework will not be accepted, but the two lowest homework grades will be dropped. If you can’t makeit to a test, let me know well before so that we can schedule a makeup. Coursework and Grading:Homework:
Homework worksheets will be handed out in class after the lecture for eachchapter is completed. You should have enough time to complete these in class, but if youneed more time you may hand in worksheets during office hours after class or on thefollowing class period.
Exams:
There will be two midterm exams and a final exam on the last day of class.
Grading:
40% Homework* 20% Exam1 (Chapters 1, 2, 3, 4)20% Exam 2 (Chapters 10, 13, 14, 15) 20% Final Exam (Chapters 5, 6, 7, ?)*Again, your two lowest quiz score will be dropped.Although there is no participation grade, good attendance, participation, and attitude maygive your final grade a small boost in marginal circumstances.
