: The Rainiers scored 3 runs late in the game, but it wasn’t enough to over come a 5-run 1st inning by the Bees as Tacoma lost toSalt Lake 3-5 on Sunday. Starter Jeremy Bonderman (6.0,8,5,5,2,2) recorded his 2nd loss of the season, allowing 5 runs on 4 hits and 2walks in the first inning. LH Lucas Luetge (2.0,1,0,0,1,3) struck out 3 in 2.0 scoreless inning in relief. LF Nate Tenbrink (2x4, R, BB), 3BCarlos Triunfel (2x5, 2B, 3 RBI) and 2B Leury Bonilla (2x4) each recorded 2 of the Rainiers 9 hits.

Carlos Triunfel
recorded 5 hits, including hitting for the cycle as AAA Tacoma shutout Fresno 8-0on Wednesday night. Singling on the first pitch he saw in the fifth inning, Triunfel completed Tacoma’s first cycle since Raul Ibañezaccomplished the feat on Aug. 19, 1997 vs. Albuquerque. He also is the first player in the Pacific Coast League to cycle since Nashville’sCaleb Gindl on July 10, 2011, also against Albuquerque. Triunfel achieved the act in his first 4 at-bats of the game. He tripled with one outin the first inning, led off the bottom of the third with a double, then homered in the fourth. He completed the cycle in the fifth inning afterlining a single down the right field line. Triunfel snapped an 0-for-20 stretch coming into the game and was the first Rainiers player sinceMichael Saunders on July 30, 2011 vs. Las Vegas to record 5 hits in a game.
