The purpose of this lesson is for students to learn the basic concepts related to marketing. Students willdevelop an understanding of the four P’s of marketing.
ESSENTIAL QUESTION(S)
What are the four P’s of marketing?How can you apply the four P’s to an eBay auction?
OBJECTIVES
1.
 
Students will be able to describe the four elements of the marketing mix by watching a marketingvideo and identifying the four P’s to a 100% degree of accuracy. (BCS-BE-36d)2.
 
Students will be able to organize thoughts to reflect logical, positive, and tactful thinking beforespeaking by pairing up and discussing their ideas to utilize the four P’s at a yard sale to a 90%degree of accuracy. (BCS-BE-3b)3.
 
Students will be able to use online databases, Web-based sources and other information sourcesto retrieve information by searching for and locating a nontraditional marketing idea to a 100%degree of accuracy. (BCS-BE-7d)

Students will open up a document in MS Word and type up a list of ten items that either they buy on a regular basis, if they have troublecoming up with ten; they may add items that their parents or guardians buy for them.Once they have their list, have students select which items they geton sale or believe they get on sale by bolding the selected items. If students can’t remember, have them look on the internet to see if anyof their items are currently on sale. Next, ask the students what kindof sale they usually go on, coupons, percentage off, buy one get one,etc.Obj. 2 & 3/ verbal;visual;5
