Carlos Triunfel
recorded 5 hits, including hitting for the cycle as AAA Tacoma shutout Fresno 8-0on Wednesday night. Singling on the first pitch he saw in the fifth inning, Triunfel completed Tacoma’s first cycle since Raul Ibañezaccomplished the feat on Aug. 19, 1997 vs. Albuquerque. He also is the first player in the Pacific Coast League to cycle since Nashville’sCaleb Gindl on July 10, 2011, also against Albuquerque. Triunfel achieved the act in his first 4 at-bats of the game. He tripled with one outin the first inning, led off the bottom of the third with a double, then homered in the fourth. He completed the cycle in the fifth inning afterlining a single down the right field line. Triunfel snapped an 0-for-20 stretch coming into the game and was the first Rainiers player sinceMichael Saunders on July 30, 2011 vs. Las Vegas to record 5 hits in a game.

: The finale between the LumberKings and Snappers was postponed due to rain at AshfordUniversity Field. The postponement is the 7th for the LumberKings in the last 12 days. Clintonstarted the homestand with a doubleheader against Wisconsin after Thursday and Friday's gameswere washed out. The LumberKings will have to play a doubleheader in Wisconsin in early Maydue to the Timber Rattlers not returning to Clinton in the first half. Beloit does return to Clinton inthe first half, setting up another doubleheader for the LumberKings. Clinton has already played 8doubleheader games, the most in the Midwest League. The Snappers return for a 3-game seriesfrom May 14-16. The 2 teams will play a doubleheader on May 14 at Ashford University Field. TheLumberKings hit the road for a six-game trip to Lake County and Fort Wayne.
