Shortening long URLs for Twitter
So you want to tweet out a link using Twitter and you realize that the URL is too long to fit. What doyou do? You shorten it!

Option 1: copy your URL, and then go to bit.ly to shorten it
Copy the URL that is too long, and then go to http://bit.ly/ From here you can enter in the address thatis too long, and then you can click "shorten"
Copy the new short URL, or just post directly to twitter from here by signing up for bit.ly
The new short URL "http://bit.ly/3IRGT" will appear, and you can just copy and paste that into yourtweet. In the future, if you like posting from here, you can just click "sign up" and once you register fora bit.ly account, you can post to twitter directly from here.

Option 2: If you're going to be doing this a lot, grab the bookmarklet
Go to bit.ly (http://bit.ly/ ) and drag the "Shorten with bit.ly" link to your browser's bookmarks
