c) provide references to pertinent competing services by displaying three Rival Linksthat are (i) presented in a manner to make users clearly aware of these alternativesand (ii) selected in accordance with the mechanism set out in Annex 1.4.
For Google Specialised Results Links that do not meet the conditions of paragraphs 2or 3, Google will display a label with the Google Specialised Results Link that (i) isaccessible to users via a clearly visible icon and (ii) indicates that the GoogleSpecialised Results Link has been added by Google to provide access to a GoogleSpecialised Search Results Page, so that users do not confuse GoogleSpecialised
Results Links with Generic Search Results.5.
For devices with a screen size of 9.7 inches (diagonal) or greater and a resolutionof 1024x768 pixels or greater,Google will display Rival Linkspursuant to paragraphs 2and 3 directly on the Google General Search Results Page. For devices with screensizes less than 9.7 inches (diagonal) or a resolution of less than 1024x768 pixels,Google will make Rival Links accessible via a dedicated link.6.
Annex 2 contains examples of implementations that set out for each of thecommitments pursuant toparagraphs1-5 the minimum standard for the degree to whichGoogle shall implement these commitments.7.
Google maychoose alternative solutions to those contained in Annex 2 meeting theconditions of paragraphs 1-5 above, in particular to adapt to changes in the design,technology, and context of Google’s search results. Pursuant to paragraph 14 of Annex 4, Google will report such changeswithin ten US business days from rolling outthat alternative implementation.
B. Display and Use of Content
Opt-Out from Display
Within three months from the Effective Date, Google will make available a web-basedNotice Form that provides website owners with the option to opt out of display onCovered Web Pages of content crawled by Google's search user agents. Websiteowners will be able to opt out on a domain name basis.
Within 30 working days of receipt of a properly completed Notice Form, Google willcease displaying content crawled by its search user agents from the domain namedesignated by the website owner on Covered Web Pages.10.
Google shall not use the fact that a site has exercised this opt-out as a signal fordetermining ranking in Generic Search Results.
