Scribd Features
Scribd has a lot of features. Most of them are pretty apparent, but we wantto point out a few that you might have overlooked:
Our
embeddable
PDF player. Scribd documents can easily beembedded in other webpages, such as your blog or Myspace profile.Just copy and paste the embed code on the right side of eachdocument.
High quality conversions. We convert among a variety of differentformats really well, and you are welcome to use our services toconvert your docs.
Audio downloads. We have a very high quality text-to-speechconverter and the play button icon below “download as” let’s youdownload the audio version as an mp3. This means you can useScribd to convert a book to a format you can listen to on your iPod.
Related documents. Also in that right bar is a list of relateddocuments that we determine using fancy text similarity algorithms. This list is a fun way to browse Scribd, and you can also find peoplewho have published documents similar to your own.
Traffic analytics. This is definitely one of the most popular featureson Scribd and people seem to spend hours playing with it. There are alot of different things you can do, so be sure to sample them all.
Text statistics. This is a very cool feature that often gets overlooked.Below the traffic analytics, you can see things like how big the wordsare that you use.
Print(fu). If you order a printed copy of someone’s work, the author gets emailed a dollar! Support the author AND get very high quality printings.
Favorites. This link at the bottom of every document lets you save adocument in your “favorites” so you can come back and find it later. It is also a good way to tell the author you like his work and to notifyyour friends that you favorited something. This feature is very usefuland we recommend you give it a try.We have an endless list of features we want to add. We will mention justthree of them for now:

By lack of support forums or a bug db, I'm going to post my feature request here :-) I uploaded a landscape pdf on http://www.scribd.com/doc/6638/De-web... but it got rotated automatically to portrait... I didn't find a way to rotate it back again via the interface. Best regards, Pascal Van Hecke BTW: were you inspired by http://blog.forret.com/2006/08/youtub... when starting Scribd :-) ?

FINALLY! something that should have been done ages ago... Geek fantasy come true! There's a zillion million of us Palm users/non-users who read books/articles on the PalmDOC format on various portable devices. The most simple and open specification for this is AporticDOC. That should work on all Palm or other platforms that use a DOC-base(non-Microsoft) for their ebooks. Plz consider this as a practical feature request. I don't think it would be hard to add a bunch of scripts to convert plainTXT to palmDOC/aporticDOC; infact there's open-source code out there as well for the same. :) Cheerio guys; and i'm gonna get greedy about an API very soon.... ;)
