How Mosquitoes Differ from Other Insects
Mosquitoes are the most distinctive among the insects that act as vectors in spreading diseases tohumans and other animals. Mosquitoes are considered as the supreme scourge of any insect pest.According to the statistics, mosquitoes transmit diseases to more than 69 million people every year. Thelist of diseases that mosquitoes transmit includes malaria, yellow fever, dengue fever, ross river fever, heartworms in dogs, viral encephalitis in horses and more. Mosquitoes show some characteristics thatare moderately exclusive from other insects. The most unique characteristic is that they contain differentsensors which aid them in finding host.
Body features that make mosquitoes unique from other insectsChemical sensors:
These sensors help mosquitoes in sensing

carbon dioxide and lactic acid from up to100 feet away. These are the gases that mammals and birds give off as a part of their normal breathing.Certain chemicals in sweat also attract mosquitoes and it is due to this reason that people who sweat lessget bitten less by mosquitoes
.Visual sensors:
Mosquitoes using these sensors are able to see and target the people wearing clothingthat contrasts with the background, and especially when they move while wearing that clothing. If something is moving, mosquitoes consider it as alive, take their chances and zero in on the prey.
Heat sensors:
These special sensors help mosquitoes in detecting heat, and as a result, warm-bloodedhumans and animals are easily found once they get close enough. Researches have shown that if amosquito is within 10 feet of a living body then it can feel body heat.

The mosquito’s heat sensor is moreaccurate when the humidity is high.
Some other features that make mosquitoes exclusive from other insects
Mosquitoes can

inhabit and breed in almost any habitat on earth. They can be found in anyregion whether it’s Arctic Circle or tropic region.
Unlike other insects, both male and female mosquitoes don’t feed on the same type of feed.Female mosquito feeds on animal blood-feeding while the male are nectar feeders.
During the mating season mosquitoes make

a buzzing noise which male mosquitoes can hear each other from a distance of about 3.3 feet.
Each species of mosquitoes produce a unique buzzing noise. Female mosquitoes use thebuzzing sound to attract male mosquitoes for mating. For more information and to buyfly trapsat reasonable rates log on tohttp://www.flitrapdirect.com
