Dear Parents, This week, students are studying words with vowel diphthongs (aw and au). Your childs spelling words for the week are below. Please note the following: The spelling pattern -au makes the sound /aw/ (cause, fault). The spelling pattern -aw makes the same sound /aw/ (saw, yawn). This spelling pattern generally occurs at the end of a word or the end of a syllable.
