Argentine Tango Lesson: An Argentine Tango Lesson Is Enough To Get YouDancing!
Go figure, the tango is the fastest amid ballroomdances to learn and dance well from the beginning. Its principal pulse is the slow-slow, that is a pace, and its principal step is the walk itself.I arrived to my initial Argentine tango lesson praying not to embarrass myself too much andhoping I would not hurt the teacher. My onecomfort was to observe the same concern on myclassmates' faces. The teacher, trying to make us relax, started bysaying: "People, stop sweating, tango is easy". Shewent on: "You have joined your initial Argentine tango lesson and I would like to hear what you think of the tango". A woman replied, saying she believed tango was stylish, and a great way to express yourself. The teacher agreed, but yet stated that it dependedon the leader and in our ability to move.Pointing at the males present, she explained that the leader, assisted by his partner, mustinfer the music, or else, both would be marching like soldiers. "Relax sirs", sheappended, tango music is inspiring and communicative, and simple to perceive.Since we had signed up, she speculated we all held a certain class to move. The tangorequires smooth, flowing, sort of cat-like walk, but it is up to the leader to direct theway into a bittersweet, bright, serious or even flirtatious style. Along with this, wediscovered, it possesses tons of ornamentation, and our degree of ease towards themusic and partner would let us do less or more with these. As I observed the class, everyone showing a blend of excitement, anxiety and shyness, Icould just think that I was truly excited about this celebrated Argentine tango lesson Ihad thought about for almost one year.I could clearly comprehend it is an art that yields you freedom to practice while you stillsavor dancing it in a simple manner 'till you can dominate the more difficultcombinations, and when you choose a good partner, you can bet you get there. And then, the magnificent music began. The teacher said that the aim of this initialArgentine tango lesson was to plunge us into the tango world, not just the dance. Verylogical! Once we began to grasp the mechanics and value, it became decipherable whatwe were supposed to feel as we danced. As we listened to the talented Gardel, she told us each dance possesses its singular music, thus, each composition has to be felt profoundly. Employing her foot, sherecreated on the floor the even one- two- three- four sequence that conformed themusic's principal beats and began to walk about the dance floor to this combination.Call me crazy, but I followed her, and so did others. I was simply striding, but I wasdancing. It was wonderful!
