Workcamp 18-28 June 2009 in Spain
 
INTRODUCTION:“Imagine a world in rainbow colors”
is to express values such as tolerance, respect, inclusion, and non-violencethrough an artistic project. During the workcamp the group will be divided in four groups: music, theatre, dance andpainting. With an animator, they will create performances which will be show to the local population during the festival
“Arco Iris” the 26 of June
, organized by the refugees Center (CAR) of Alcobendas (Madrid, Spain).
ACTIVITIES:
Painting:
To realise a draw in a local, face painting during the festival, decoration of the music instrument
Music:
African percusion, flamenco, latino…
Dance:
Various dances… African, flamenco, Brasil, …
Theatre:
street theatre, mime, improvisation
PARTICIPANTS:
The most important thing is to host participants who are really motivated to have an intercultural experience. Weencourage organizations to send young people who are between18 and 30 and have a high motivation to learn from othercultures and share their own. Being ready to participate in different workshops, activities, group discussions, etc - is alsovery important. This is an exchange based on art,
so the participants should have an artistic background
and to beable to create and share their skills with the others.
 ABOUT US:Imagina:
Imagina, is a Youth Centre of Alcobendas where the policies Youngsters of Alcobendas City Council, aredeveloped following the criteria of integrating efforts. The sort of activities include Youth Information and Counselling,international activities such as youth exchanges, volunteering and workcamps, training for Youth Workers, place withcomputers and activities interesting for youth people, and leisure activities during the year and on the SummerCampaign,through the agreements with local youth organisations.We co-operate regularly with the Regional Government,and several local youth organisations. On an international level, we worked with the program Youth in Action, EVSprogrammes, exchange. We have, in the past, co-operated with organisations all around Europe, America, Asia. We areinvolved with Yap, peace youth movement.
Waslala :
Waslala is an intercultural initiative which promotes respect for differences in ideas, patterns of thought andbehaviors of all people regardless of culture. Our aim is to fight the social intolerance and segregation so common inmodern society. We are here to involve our community in furthering the values of tolerance, equality and cross-culturalempathy. Another key objective of our organization is to provide a meeting place for individuals and/or associations withsimilar aims, at the local, national or international level.Participate in international movements (YAP: Youth Action for Peace)
CAR :
Reception Centers for Refugees (CAR) are government establishments, aimed at providing, on a temporary basis,housing, maintenance, urgent psicological and social care, and others services designed to the training and achievementof personal authonomy of asylum seekers or refugees.
SELECTION PROCESS:
 
Therefore applications will be open from 1/04/09 to 24/04/09.
We want the participants to get involved in the workcamp before, during and after the activity, for that reason itsnecessary make the selection some months before. Please send the application at this email:
