Characters
All characters in Vampires are essentially the same. Once human, they have now joined the ranks of the Undead. No longer human, that which made them unique isall but destroyed.Character generation consists of creating a character you wish to play.Backgrounds, personal histories and personality quirks have no game bearing -- buta rich and engaging character will be more fun to play than a "walking game piece."All characters will start the game with a Sire (unless playing an Elder). Elders dohave Sires (technically), but their own Sires are not represented by an in-gamecharacter.Sires select their progeny,
not
the other way around. Also, characters start the game with one ally and one enemy (players will knowwho their ally and enemy both are...their character may be ignorant of theserelationships at the discretion of the players involved). All characters possess the following in-game characteristics:
Generation
(potency of blood)

Attributes
(Life, blood, resolve, status)

Disciplines
(vampiric abilities)

Each of these will be dealt with in their own section.
Generation
Vampires create progeny by draining a human victim of all their blood, then feedingthat human a drop (one Blood token) of their own. The Vampire who createsprogeny is that person's Sire. Sires always have one more (maximum) Blood andResolve token than their progeny. Your Generation is equal to 6 minus themaximum amount of Blood your body can contain -- an Elder Vampire is Generation1. The Elder's progeny is Generation 2. The lower your Generation, the more potentyour Blood and the stronger your Resolve. The originator of a vampiric Family (aka clan, cult, bloodline, legacy...whatever youwish to call it) is known as an Elder (or Master) Vampire. Elders are the mostpowerful Vampires in the game. If you are playing an Elder, you are free to selectyour own disciplines. If you have progeny,
you
select your progeny's disciplines(you cannot select disciplines other than the ones you yourself possess). Unlessotherwise noted, the number of tokens listed is the
maximum
allowed to acharacter of that Generation. You may not increase this number except throughAdvancement.Elder Vampires begin the game with the following characteristics:
10 Life
10 Blood

5 Resolve

15 Status

15 Discipline (any, provided that pre-requisites are taken before advancedlevels)

An Elder Vampire can (at their discretion), dole out their own Status to theirprogeny (or other Vampires) at the start of the game.
An Elder's "firstborn" progeny begins the game with the followingcharacteristics:
8 Life
5 Blood

5 Resolve

5 Status / maximum 5
10 Discipline (can only learn Sire's disciplines)
