SynchronEyes (Version 7): General Information
 There is a small SynchronEyes menu on all student computers. It may go away, and just asmall orange symbol will appear in the tray. The instructor version of SynchronEyes is located in the
Instructor Software
folder onthe Instructor workstation desktop.
Student desktop functions and SynchronEyes
Select
Thumbnails
on view to see student desktops
Broadcast a student’s desktop to all of the student desktops.
In Thumbnail view, double click on the student desktop you would like to broadcast
Observe
allows student to retain controlIn
Observe
mode the instructor can draw with a pen on the student desktop.However, this changes the student pointer to a pen, so you need todisengage the pen by selecting pointer so student can use their pointer.
Control
allows instructor control (student loses all control over their desktop)
Full Screen
shows the full screen. To stop, select view in
window mode
from themenu.
WARNING!! When you use these modes to take over a student desktop,SynchronEyes can slow the response time down significantly. You need to watch for the time lag and move slowly.
Capture
allows you to capture an image on a student desktop as a .jpg and save itto the instructor desktop or your flash drive.
Lock 
puts the message
SynchronEyes Monitor Control

If you open the Thumbnail view, and the student desktopthumbnails are out of numerical order OR appear “piled” on eachother, are difficult to see, etc., do the following:

Block Internet
blocks student internet access. Student will get a message andwill need to click on OK. If student tries to open a browser window, they will get amessage
 Access to internet is restricted at this time.
Message
allows instructor to chat with students. When you select
Message
,a chat box pops up for all students. Student types their message in the teachertab. All students have access to the messages sent and received. You can use the CTRL key to select only one student or several particular studentsbefore selecting
Message
. This limits the chat interaction to the parties selected.
Instructor Functions
Broadcast
sends the instructor workstation desktop view to the student desktops.Use CTRL-A to select all student desktops to receive the instructor workstationbroadcast.
Send Web
is a way to send out a URL to students.
File Transfer
allows you to transfer any file from the instructor workstation to thestudent workstations.
Groups
allows you to create sub-groups of students. Use
Edit
to add groupmembers. Using the
Group
function adds a tab for each group to the teacher
Thumbnails
viewing area. You can watch groups, message only to group members.
Please remove groups after you have finished your session.
Vote
is a spontaneous way to poll your students for Yes or No answers. Click Vote tocreate a question and send it to all students. Votes are tallied at the bottom of theSynchroneyes Instructor screen.
Voting is not anonymous if you are projecting the instructor workstation.Use the PIC Mute button on the remote to turn off the projectortemporarily (press PIC Mute again to bring the projector back), orminimize SynchronEyes on the instructor workstation if you do noteveryone to see the votes as they come in.
Creating Quizzes and Using the Quiz Function
