DC Water Clean Rivers Project

COMMUNITY MEETING IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD

DC Water will hold an on-site meeting for residents of the 2200 block of Flagler Place, N.W. on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 from 6p.m. until 7p.m. The meeting location will be at the corner of Flagler Place, N.W. and W Street, N.W. Tents and chairs will be provided. The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss the impacts associated with the upcoming construction on the First Street Tunnel, a major component of the 13-mile tunnel system, known collectively as the Clean Rivers Project. The First Street Tunnel project is specifically designed to reduce sewer backups and stormwater/sanitary overflows in Bloomingdale and LeDroit Park. Construction along the tunnel alignment at Flagler Place, N.W. is scheduled to start in late 2013/early 2014, and the First Street tunnel will go into service in March 2016.
