What is the National Archives? How is the Archives at Philadelphia different from the one in DC? Want to know how to use the National Archives to research your family history? This class introduces you to the basics including: What are our most popular records? Where should you start? How can we help you?

About the Speaker: Beth Levitt, a Certified Archivist, is currently an Archives Specialist for the National Archives at Philadelphia. She received her undergraduate degree from Purdue University (West Lafayette, Indiana) and her MA from Florida State University (Tallahassee, Florida). Beth has previously held positions at the Presbyterian Historical Society and Thomas Jefferson University, both in Philadelphia, the University of Georgia in Athens, and Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. While her career has encompassed all areas of archival management, Beth has a particular affinity for outreach, access, and reference.
