McNeilly: Far-Left Should Renounce Anti-Worker Violence, Politics of King—Not InviteHim to Keynote!
Union Boss Responsible for Wasting Over $20 Million in Workers’ Salaries on Failed Proposal 2 Scheme Set to Lead Extremist Conference
LANSING, MI, May 3, 2012
–Michigan Freedom Fund President Greg McNeilly today called on far-left extremiststo renounce anti-worker policies and to put Michigan families first. McNeilly’s statement came in response to theannouncement by the Michigan Summit, a consortium of far-left extremist groups, that their annual event would feature akeynote speech by United Auto Workers President Bob King:
“The time has come for the far-left to abandon the kind of violence, intimidation and extreme, anti-worker politicsthat enrich one-percenter union bosses at the expense of Michigan families,” said Michigan Freedom Fund President Greg McNeilly. “If they are unwilling to finally abandon their assault on Michigan families, at least those families can rest alittle easier knowing the left-wing extremists continue looking to the example of men with a long and storied record of failure like Bob King.” “King was almost single-handedly responsible for last year’s failure of Proposal 2, the dangerous scheme that would have permanently stripped workers’ civil rights, protected drug dealers and predators in our children’s classroomsand cost taxpayers billions. Unfortunately for union members, he burned over $20 million of their own hard earned salaries in the process without so much as asking permission.”
