~ February 5, 2009 Meeting Minutes
At its Regular meeting on Monday, March 9, 2009, Surrey City Council received the
minutes of the February 5, 2009 meeting of the South Fraser Family Court and Youth
Justice Committee, The subject Committee minutes included a motion of the Committee
as follows:
“That the Terms of Reference be amended to exclude councillors on the
committee from voting and to act as liaison members.”
Subsequent to considering the subject minutes, Surrey City Council adopted the
following resolution:
_That a letter be sent to the South Fraser Family Court and Youth Justice
Commitee expressing the City of Surrey's dismay and disappointment in the
Committee's motion to exclude City Councillors rom voting on the Commie”
Carey City Council noted thatthe City of Surrey is the major funding contributor to this
Committee and also provides free accounting services in relation to tke administration of
the Committee. Similarly, the other member municipalities also contribute oy the on-
going viability of the Committee,
