This project was recently madeand designed for my daughterMcKenna
ʼ
s 10th birthday.She really wanted an
iPod Nano
for her 10th birthday and I worriedabout her being old enough totake care of it. I really didn
ʼ
t wantit falling out of her pocket or haveher set it down somewhere only tobe forgotten. So, I figured out howto keep it safely around her neckand this is the result of my efforts. This is what you will need to make the
Itty Bitty Phone or iPod KEEPER
.
Supplies for Larger KEEPER (Finished size 3”x5”):
Cut 2 pieces of fabric measuring (7” width x 6” height) for the BagCut 2 pieces of fabric measuring (3 1/2” width x 9” height) for the PocketCut 1 piece of fabric measuring (1 3/4” width by 42” length) for the Neck StrapCut 1 piece of batting measuring (7” width x 6” height) for the Bag
Supplies for Smaller KEEPER (Finished size 2 1/2”x 4 1/2”):
Cut 2 pieces of fabric measuring (5 1/4” width x 6” length) for the BagCut 2 pieces of fabric measuring (3 1/2” width x 9” height) for the PocketCut 1 piece of fabric measuring (1 3/4” width by 42” length) for the Neck StrapCut 1 piece of batting measuring (7” width x 6” height) for the Bag

With rights sides together, sew a 1/4” seam on theinside of your drawn line making sure to leave anopening at the bottom for turning right side out.Cut out along the drawn line, clip corners andcurves then press.Find the two snap placements on the pocket patternand mark it on the fabric then follow the instructionsthat come with the snaps for attaching them to thepocket. Make sure to center the snaps.Find the center of the bag and center the pockethorizontally making sure to allow for the 1/4” seamat the bottom. Measure 1” up from the bottom. Sewpocket along the bottom fold line as seen in pattern.Bring up the bottom edge of pocket and align theside edges. Sew a narrow seam along both sides ofthe pocket. This will also give you an added pocketbehind the pocket because you didn
ʼ
t sew along thetop of the pocket. Now it
ʼ
s time to sewthe back seamstogether. Center theseam on the backand
ONLY
sew thebottom of the(black) outside bag.
