BLUE IS GREEN And GREEN IS BLUE In Javaness culture, I heard about something that I didn’t really understand. When I asked to my “mbae” “where is my new clothes?”. “what the colour of your clothes?”, she said. “the green one, last time I saw in my cupboard.”, I answer. She look for my new clothes, and she came to me bring my blue clothes. “This is the new clothes” she said. “I want the green clothes not the blue one.” I very confuse. “This is the green one”. “No, this colour is blue not green.” I said. “I’m so sorry, I forget. In javaness culture the colour blue is green and green is blue.” She explain to me. And we just laugh together. With this story I want to tell you about the javaness culture. In javaness culture the colour blue is green and green is blue. I learn about something in this story. Somehow the culture in some place will not same with the normal situation. But different is something that make life so beautiful.
