•Weconsiderthattheculturalevolutionofapeopledependsdirectlyonthephysical-geologicalpotentialoftheirlivingregionandevenmoreso,duringprehistoricperiods,whenmankindwastotallydependentonitsnaturalenvironment(mainlyonthephysical-geologicalregimeofitshabitat).•Consequently,webelievethattheeconomical,social&culturalevolution,eventhereligionandthepoliticalsystemofapeople,aredirectlyorindirectlyconnectedtotheirphysical-geologicalenvironmentphysical-geologicalevolutionoftheirbroaderregion.•TheGreekcivilization,shouldbeconnectedtothegeo-environmentalevolutionofthegeographicalunitsofAegeanandPeriaegeanareas.
