2 May 2013 Dear Mr Qureshi Shepherds Bush Market Thank you for you letter of 16 April, including your attachment of the letter to Sir Peter Hendy of 11 April on Shepherds Bush Market. Please consider this letter a response to both your letter to me and your letter to Sir Peter. We are continuing to discuss the future of the Shepherds Bush Market with our adjoining owners Orion Land and the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham (LBHF). As you know, the Council has produced a masterplan for the comprehensive regeneration of the area, and Orion has obtained planning consent for its implementation. The market clearly plays an integral part in the delivery of this masterplan. We would not wish to delay the delivery of the masterplan, but we have yet to agree terms with Orion for any inclusion of the market in their scheme. Until such time as we are able to agree terms, we will be opposing the Compulsory Purchase Order as we need to ensure we protect our operational railway interests, which are included in the CPO. In response therefore to your specific questions: 1. 2. 3. 4. Yes, we are opposing the compulsory purchase of the market by LBHF, for the reasons set out above. We have not agreed terms to sell the site. Any sale of our land would be made subject to the existing tenancy agreements. Any decision would be based on optimising the long-term return we have more work to do to assess the most appropriate commercial m odel to deliver that outcome.

Thank you for forwarding the letter from James Horada, Chair of the Shepherds Bush Market Tenants Association, on the arrangements for renewing leases at the market. Contrary to what was stated in Mr Horadas letter, we have not changed our rules or processes in terms of the payment of legal fees. We deal with Shepherds Bush Market tenants in exactly the same way as we have done at the market and more widely across our estate for many years. I recognise however the pressures on our tenants. A meeting is being arranged with the Shepherds Bush Market tenants later this month. We will bring to that meeting options to address the specific concerns raised by Mr Horada. I would be happy to share with you the outcome of those discussions. I hope this addresses the issues you raised. If I can be of any assistance on any other property or commercial related matters, please feel free to contact me directly. Yours sincerely
