New Life Church Staff
is again complete
The Staff Parish Committee of our church is

pleased to announce our new Christian Education
Director, Cindy Butler! After receiving several applications and doing
interviews, we found the best candidate for the position was right here
within our very own church walls.

Even though she and her husband, John and their children, Hannah and
Andrew have been a part of our church for three years, you might not know
that she can speak Spanish and Frenchfl uently. Did you know that she
was an assistant cheerleading coach (in a previous life) and she was a
youth minister in a United Methodist Church in Kentucky?

Cindy will be in charge of all aspects of our adult and children Sunday
School Program, the Children’s Worship (at both
the 8:30 and 11:00 Services) and developing
other-than-Sunday-morning education, spiritual and
discipleship opportunities for our church.

Obviously she will be relying on us, the members of
New Life, to volunteer and make sure that all these
areas are properly covered. So when she comes
around with her clipboard tofi ll needed timeslots
and responsibilities – please help!

Music News from Sarah!
As most of you know, 15 of our youth are participating in this year’s

Youth JAM. Youth Jam is a two-day musical experience where youth groups all around Richmond (and more) come together and sing for our Lord. It is a marvelous performance, and I encourage all of you to come out and support our youth! The performance is November 17 at 3:00pm at Reveille United Methodist Church on Cary Street.

Also, there have been some additions to the Adult Praise Team. We have added singers and even another guitarist! If you want to be a part of the team, please feel free to drop by a practice and see what it’s all about. We practice Tuesday nights from 6-7:15pm. Come on out to the Praise and Worship Service on November 18 if you would like to be a part, but not on stage!

Thank you all! God Bless,
Sarah

“A Time for Everything”
Ecclesiastes 3:1-12

I just got the opportunity to fellowship with 50 other women at a retreat in Wil-
liamsburg, Virginia a couple of weekends ago. What a blessing to be among
Christian friends and to talk about
what God is doing in our lives. The
women that attended this retreat
were of various ages ranging from
late 20’s to early 80’s. What a tapes-
try of women woven together in the
name of Christ. Over the course of
the weekend, we studied Ecclesiastes
3:1-12. As we begin a new season at
New Life, I encourage you to read this
passage.

As I study this verse I am reminded
there is “a time for everything.”
What wisdom & inspiration that

I
have received from studying God’s
word, and especially this passage. I
believe that this is our “time” for youth
ministries here at New Life. As I spend
time with the youth of New Life I continue to be blessed…. Blessed to see the
face of Christ in each of them. They are eager to learn, eager to listen, and ea-
ger to love one another for Christ. This is our “time to build up.” – to reach out
to the youth of our church, in our community, and throughout the world. Christ
has called us and we boldly accept His challenge. Will you join us at youth on
Sunday nights & Wednesday Nite Live
for fellowship and fun, discipleship and
missions? Together we are the body
of Christ and together it is “our time to
build”!
