PROBABLE CAUSE STATEMENT

I, , with the Lake Saint Louis Police Department, a law Det. Bret Carbray #267 enforcement agency, state that the facts contained herein are true to my best knowledge and belief and that any false statements made are punishable by law. 1. On 1/1/2013 (date of crime), at Lake Saint Louis, in St. Charles County, MO, Joseph Thomas Maddock (name of suspect) did:

admittedly commit the crime of Statutory Sodomy 1st by placing his left hand down the front of 10 year old's pants, under his underwear, and touching the victim's penis while in the capicity as a teacher at the victim's residence. Maddock met the victim in the spring of 2012 while teaching 3rd grade at Andrews Academy where the victim attended the 5th grade. Maddock and the victim convinced the parent's of the victim to have Maddock home school the victim the following school year. From Sept. 2012 to Feb. 2013 Maddock taught the victim at his residence five days a week and this was usually in the finished basement living room area. During several reading sessions, Maddock would have his arm around the victim and he would rub the victim's back and stomach under his shirt on his bare skin while laying down on the couch with Maddock reading a story. During a reading session in Jan. 2013, Maddock admittedly placed his hand down the front of the victim's pants, under his underwear and touched the victim's penis and then Maddock removed his hand from the victim's pants.

3. I have reasonable grounds to believe that the defendant will not appear upon the summons or is a danger to the crime victim, the community or any other person because:

Maddock has been teaching children since 2001. Lindberg Early Children Dev - 20012002, YMCA Parkway after school care - 2002-2003, Rock Springs Elementary in Florida- 2003-2005, Rockwood School Dist. 2006-2008, Hunington Learning Center 2007-2009, Webster Groves School Dist, 2006-2008, The Wilson School 2007-2008, St. Michaels School 2008-2010, Epworth School 2011, Andrews Academy 2012, Dynamic Pathways in O'Fallon - current teacher.
