Calling all high school seniors and college undergraduates from Alhambra!

You are invited to apply for the

2013 Sam & Jackie Wong-Alhambra Source Scholarship

First prize: $500 and publication Second prize: $250 and publication Third prize: Publication
Submit a video or essay answering one of the following questions 1. How has your ethnicity impacted who you are? 2. What is it like being an immigrant or the child of immigrants? 3. What does your name mean to you? 4. What is your familys history? 5. What traditional values from your familys culture do you believe help you become a more responsible U.S. citizen? All applications must be submitted by email to Alhambra Source, info@alhambrasource.org, by May 31, 2013. Include your name, age, school, and phone number. Videos must be sent as a YouTube link and be no longer than four minutes. Essays should be attached in Microsoft Word format and be no longer than 1,000 words. Winners will be announced July 2013 and their work will be showcased on Alhambra Source.
Please note the following contest notes and rules: 1. Submissions may be in English, Chinese, or Spanish, but must include translation or captions in English. 2. Applicants must be high school seniors or college undergraduates during the 2013-2014 school year. 3. Applicants must live or have lived in Alhambra. 4. Work must be produced after February 2013.

Qu su nombre significa para usted? 4. Cul es la historia de su familia? 5. Qu valores tradicionales de la cultura de su familia cree usted que le ayudar a convertirse en un ciudadano ms responsable EE.UU.? Todas las solicitudes deben ser enviadas por correo electrnico a Alhambra Source, info@alhambrasource.org, antes del 31 de mayo de 2013. Incluya su nombre, edad, escuela y nmero de telfono. Los videos deben ser enviados como un enlace de YouTube y ser no ms de cuatro minutos. Los ensayos deben ser enviados en formato Microsoft Word y tener no ms de 1,000 palabras. Los ganadores sern anunciados julio de 2013 y sus trabajos sern exhibidos en la Alhambra Source.
