Chapter 1:Angel ran until he could not run anymore. Sweatwas pouring off his face and his heart was poundingfaster than he could run, or at least it was tohim. No matter how fast he ran he would still haveto cross the river, but how? He could not swim andhe did not know how to make a little raft in tenminutes!Angel was still running when he started to seethe Calverse River and then he knew what he had todo. He had to swim. But he still did not know howto swim he did not take the swimming lessons thatwere required of him if he were to become awarrior. But he did not have any choice he had toswim or who knew what would happen. Death. War.Death! So that was that he knew what he had to do.Swim.The Calverse River was a few more yardsahead of him. Before he reached it he took a longdeep breath and dove. The river was cold and movingreally fast. Without knowing it he had dived into ariptide which is really dangerous, especially forhim, he did not know how to swim. He was alreadybreathing hard, he had a small chance of making itacross, but now he had no chance. He was going todie of pneumonia from swimming in the river, and ifhe did not die of pneumonia then he would drown! All was going well that was until a huge rockwas right in his path. He hit the rock so hard ittook all his breath away. Or what was left of itanyway. He was dizzy, practically unconscious andto think it could not get any worse well he thoughtwrong! Not only was he unconscious, he was going toget eaten by the ragoms that live down stream. Anice hot meal going to them. Well, they do not haveto hunt for a while. Lucky them!Angel was down stream and the ragoms werecoming at him. Ragoms. The most deadly riveranimal. They are like dragons with long spiky tail.

They have wings that are crusted down to nothing. They are like little demon monsters. He had heardof them from Omnisa, but he didn’t believe theywere real. Until now. They are not something youwant to run into!Angel tried to move his legs but he was almostunconscious and his legs were tangled up in moss.He could have been wide awake and the moss wouldnot have unloosened, even with all his strength. The ragoms were about to take a chunk out of himwhen something jumped in front of him and pickedthe ragom up with his bear hands and chunked itacross at least fifty yards. Before Angel knew hewas unconscious. He passed out right when somethingsaves him and he would not even be able to thankhim. If it was a person that is.Angel dreamed about all kinds of things. Butthey were mostly just flashes of animals andpeople. People he never seen. Or at least he didn’tthink he seen them before. Did he?He had one dream that was rather odd. It was ofa boy in front of a castle. But the castle was notan ordinary castle. This castle was massive and itwas made of bricks. In front of the castle werehuge boulders that were at least twenty feet high. And on top of the castle were at least tendifferent flags. Flags he never seen. They weredifferent colors. They each had the same symbol onthem. A sword in a mans hand. They were weirdlooking. Way different than the ones he studied inbooks. But the castle was not what caught his eye.It was the boy in front of the castle. He was youngreal young. He looked a little younger thanhimself. He had bronze hair that looked kind ofblack in the dark. He was walking across the lawnand into the sunlight. He was looking away from thecastle. His eyes were black but then he blinked andthey were grayish-green like his fathers (Edward). The boy looked sad like he wanted to cry but couldnot. Then he looked over his shoulder and smiled

like he was going to scam the men who lived there. Then he walked away towards the castle with thatsinister smirk on his face.Angel woke with a start he was covered in sweatas if that dream were real and he was afraid thatthe boy had seen him spying on him. But he was notspying on the boy, but it seemed so real. But itwas not. The boy was fake a figment of hisimagination. But then again even he was not thatgood at using his imagination. Was he?Angel tried to get to his feet but he just feelback down. He kept on trying even though it wasonly wasting his energy which he knew he would needfor later. Angel finally gave up and looked around. He was in a cave. A very dark cave. There were afew bags on the floor next to him and his sword wasjust a few feet away from him. If he could justreach he could use it as a crutch and be able toget to the edge of the cave. But just as he wasgoing to grab it a hand snatched it up before hecould even get to it.“It is about time you woke up.” said a deepangelic voice but with an accent. “You’ve beensleeping for ages. Why would you jump into theriver if you could not swim? Never mind I wouldrather not know!” angel looked into the boys eyesand saw the grayish-green eyes staring back at him.Angel was scared. Not because the person talking tohim was a stranger but because the boy staring athim was the same boy from his dream. The one withthe sinister smirk and the eyes. His father’s eyes. His father, what was going to happen to him when hegot back to the palace? If he ever got back! Justwith the thought it made him shiver.“Are you cold?” asked the voice. Angel couldnot answer he was too freaked out. So he just shookhis head. The boy was looking at him. Curiosity inhis eyes. After a while of staring at Angel the boy broke
